The property is situated  within 5 minutes walk of Helmsley town centre and is within the  National Park. Notwithstanding the proximity to the town, the location is very peaceful  and is also within 5 minutes walk of open countryside within the National Park. On–street parking is easily accessible .

Helmsley is a small, bustling market town situated on the southern boundary of the North York Moors National Park. In and around the town square area is an impressive array of shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, hotels (one with a leisure spa) and licensed premises. Within the town there is also a castle (EH), a recently restored walled garden, a heated outdoor swimming pool and just outside is situated  Duncombe Park, the ancestral home of the  Feversham family. Apart from the magnificent countryside of the National Park, other attractions such as Riveaux Abbey (EH), Nunington Hall (NT), steam railway at Pickering, Flamingo Land and Castle Howard are close by. Whitby, Scarborough  and Robin Hood’s Bay on the Yorkshire coast are a short drive away.
